Amanda Stolz, a friend on my floor, came up with a new name for Sundays. "Oh crap" Sundays: when you realize how much work you put off on Thursday...and Friday...and Saturday.
How did you guys spend your "Oh crap" Sunday?
I forced myself to get up early and treaded off to 9:00 Mass. My aunt and uncle treated me to a nice breakfast at Simple, a trendy restaurant that just opened on the East Side. The original Simple opened in my hometown (Lake Geneva represent!) and the company has added one in Milwaukee.
If you're looking for good food that is locally grown with fresh ingredients, this is the place for you. They serve breakfast all day and their lunch menu begins at 11. The egg platter gets you eggs, potatoes, toast, and a side of meat for around $8! Besides the amazing food, the atmosphere in the restaurant is just... cool. The vibrant color scheme and lighting fixtures made out of recycled materials exude a hipster feel that is confirmed by the customer base (besides my outdated uncle, of course).
I guess my "oh crap" portion of today didn't begin until after breakfast. I got back to my room, opened my planner and freaked out.
But, it's now 8:30. My agenda now has fourteen of nineteen tasks checked off my list. And it's only 8:30. Looks like my "oh crap" Sunday turned into "oh productivity" Sunday instead.
